St Edmund’s School

St Edmund’s School

St Edmund's School, Canterbury

I thought it would be the end of an era when my son, Rafi, ended his schooling at St Edmund’s, Canterbury, and embarked on his university law degree.

He had been head of school and enjoyed every minute of his educational experience, just as his older sisters, Aviva and Bekki, had both benefited from the St Edmund’s way of life.

Aviva is now working as a nanny and enjoying motherhood and Bekki has gone on to be a successful teacher in her own right. But my ties with the school have remained as they have retained me to deliver a PR strategy as the school enters a new era with the appointment of new head Louise Moelwyn-Hughes. Louise began her own teaching career at Marlborough College where among her pupils were a young Catherine Middleton and Princess Eugenie.

She becomes the first female head in the history of St Edmund’s at a time when the ratio of girls and boys has almost reached parity. Having met Louise I know that the future of the school is in very good hands.
